For the construction of the Ivano separate basement entrance project, the client's vision was to create an accessible entrance in the backyard that would lead to a basement suite, intended for future tenants or family members. This basement suite was part of a broader plan to enhance the living space of their home, set to commence immediately after the completion of the basement walkout.

The construction site presented its initial challenge: an existing deck occupied the space where the new entrance was to be built. The removal of this deck was essential to make way for the construction, requiring careful dismantling to preserve the integrity of the surrounding area.

The design for the basement walkout was carefully planned to be perpendicular to the home's existing foundation. This orientation was chosen not only for its structural feasibility but also for its aesthetic integration with the house. An integral part of this project was the construction of a concrete patio above ground, adjacent to the new entrance. This addition was crucial as it provided continued access to the backyard through the patio doors in the kitchen. Without the addition of the concrete patio, the backyard would become inaccessible from the main level of the house.

In this thoughtfully designed layout, the patio was constructed at a raised level, matching the height of the house's patio door and adjacent to the new basement entrance. This elevation difference required a step down to access the backyard from the patio, effectively creating a dynamic multi-level outdoor area. On one side of this space were the steps leading down to the basement entrance, while on the adjacent side, a single step led up to the elevated concrete patio and into the house. The arrangement of these elements was seamless, demonstrating great design foresight. The precise concrete work ensured not only the patio's durability and safety but also its aesthetic harmony with the basement entrance, adding depth and sophistication to the backyard. 

Upon completion, the client was thrilled with the outcome. The new basement separate entrance and patio not only met their practical needs but also added significant value to their property. The project was a success, paving the way for the client to commence work on their basement suite.
